24 Nov National CXO Forum and INFOTEL 2017
This year, The Federation of IT Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS) organized the ‘National CXO Forum and Conference’ on 1 November 2017 at Hilton Colombo, parallel to INFOTEL 2017 – The National ICT Exhibition was held from 2 – 5 November 2017 at BMICH. Benchmarking the 25th years of existence, this year’s theme ‘Towards a Digital Economy’ focused on how ICT and Digitalization can help various sectors in the economy to reach its potential.
CxO (Chief x Officer), a generic term for any Corporate officer (C Level). CxO is a short way to refer, collectively, to corporate executives at what is sometimes called the C-level, whose job titles typically start with “Chief” and end with “Officer” or Equivalent Designations or Higher.
Keynote speakers were Mr. Gobinath S. G. (Chief Technical Officer at Ericsson Sri Lanka and Maldives), Mr. David Wong Nan Fay (Chairman of ASOCIO and Group CEO of SnT Global), Mr. Sujit Cristy (governance, risk & compliance professional, a passionate information security adoption evangelist and a Director with Layers-7 Seguro Consultoria Private Limited), Ms. Anna Budanova (Regional Manager South Asia, ABBYY 3A), Mr. Conrad Dias (Group CIO at LOLC iPay.lk University of Leicester) and Mr. Poojitha Rajapaksha (Moderator).
INFOTEL is the largest Information & Communications Technology (ICT) event in South East Asia. SEARC. The theme of this year event was towards a Digital Economy. First INFOTEL exhibition was held in 1992 and initiated by Hon Ranil Wickramasinghe (Minister of Science Technology). Hon Harin Fernando (Minister of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure) and Dr. Kithsiri Manchanayakke (Chairman of FITIS) are the steering committee of this event.
INFOTEL is the National ICT Exhibition in Sri Lanka supported by the Ministry of Telecommunication & Digital Infrastructure, ICT Agency of Sri Lanka, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Skills Development & Vocational Training etc. INFOTEL has been focused towards the country’s national growth all throughout the history and it has been the platform to experience the latest trends and cutting-edge technologies for Sri Lanka.
