I am greatly honored and privileged to become the President of ASOCIO. It is truly a wonderful opportunity for me and NASSCOM to carry the mantle of responsibility of ASOCIO, the voice of the entire Asian Oceania region and make ASOCIO an ideal networking platform for the IT business community of the region.

We have already initiated many new and challenging tasks in addition to ongoing activities. We have initiated ASOCIO Connect, a special newsletter for the ICT industry in the Asian and Oceania region to keep members updated with regular information and happenings in the ICT sector. We have also proposed an SME development plan, which will be specifically designed for the progress of Small & Medium Enterprises and have also identified events and conferences where ASOCIO stalls will be created and member associations will be invited to participate in them.

At another level, we are keen that ASOCIO expands its IT trade activity, where, instead of two countries exchanging business notes and IT delegations, a broader, more inclusive platform is created, where “multi-lateral trade visits” are encouraged. The effort here will be to have the industry, from different economies, collectively visit a nation, to understand its market, its regulatory environment, investment potential and manpower strengths, as well as potential for trade partnerships.
