When acting or speaking o-n behalf of ASOCIO, members shall, as far as possible, serve the common interests of all member associations in accordance with the aims of ASOCIO. If faced conflicts of interest, they shall declare their position. |

Members shall not bring ASOCIO into disrepute by their behaviour or acts.

Members shall not misrepresent the views of ASOCIO, nor shall they represent that the views of a segment or group constitute the views of ASOCIO as a whole.

Members shall not seek to enhance their position to the detriment of ASOCIO.

| Relations with fellow members |

Members shall conduct all dealings with fellow members in a professional manner. They shall treat fellow members with utmost courtesy and fairness.

Members shall not adopt or engage in harmful, disparaging or predatory tactics. The property rights, work results and confidential data of fellow members shall be respected at all times.

Members shall continually support the policies of ASOCIO.
|

Members of ASOCIO shall at all times adhere to the principle of free trade with regard to the computer industry, and shall promote this principle within their countries with the view to remove trade barriers of all nature, whether explicit, implicit or cultural, by declaring their stand o-n the issues and by making the necessary representation to the respective authorities responsible for the enforcement of trade practices.

| Integrity |

Members shall at all times act with integrity.
|

Members shall act in a manner based o-n trust and good faith towards each other and with any other body with whom they interact. They shall not make exaggerated statements and claims as to the state of affairs existing or expected regarding aspects of the computer industry.

Members shall foster an environment of goodwill and cooperation and assist other member associations in ASOCIO in all ways possible and provide freely any guidance that is necessary and within their ability.

| Confidentiality |

Members shall act with complete discretion when entrusted with confidential information.
|
| |
|

Members shall not disclose or permit to be disclosed any confidential information brought up for discussion or information relating to the state of affairs of other members. This is to protect the integrity of information that may be passed to ASOCIO members for discussion or formulation of policies across national boundaries (such as copyright laws).

Members shall ensure that their staff are o-n guard against possible leaks of confidentiality arising from careless use of data or from indiscretions.

The General Assembly of ASOCIO shall have the powers to waive in writing any breach of this code in any particular case or cases. Without prejudice to any other provisions in this code, the General Assembly may, if it deems fit, make rules for regulating in respect of any matter, the professional practice, conduct and discipline of member associations.
